I am sure that we are all aware of the mantra; “If a product is for free then YOU are the product!”
It is a truth in life that most of our large social media sites do not rely on in-sourced armies of content creators to create content but rather lure people in to establish their own little piece of heaven on the interwebs where they can upload content and share news from other sites not owned or related to, for example, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
In turn then advertisers flock to these sites as they see numbers and reach – a bit like a casino where you bring your own product (money) to the floor and leave it there for the casino bosses to make more money from.
In the old days we established the MyPE Directory and allowed people to list their businesses for free.
