An Actor, Nobel Prize Winner, Director and Singers Walk into a Bar. What do they have in Common?

We are at a loss as to whether the ‘loss’ of these famous people to other industries was a good or a bad thing says Straton Electrical as they list several famous people started out as electricians before achieving fame in other fields:

George Harrison: The Beatles guitarist worked as an apprentice electrician at a department store in Liverpool, but was ultimately let go for “blowing things up”.

Albert Einstein: Before developing the theory of relativity and winning a Nobel Prize, Einstein was an electrical apprentice for his family’s business in Germany, working as an electrician at Oktoberfest and providing electrical lighting.

Liam Cunningham: The Game of Thrones actor worked as an electrician in the mid-1980s, including a stint in Zimbabwe maintaining electrical equipment and training local electricians.

Rowan Atkinson: The comedic actor famous for playing Mr. Bean earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Oxford University before transitioning to a career in comedy.

Alfred Hitchcock: The legendary film director briefly worked as an electrician’s apprentice at a company that made electrical appliances before moving into advertising and eventually directing.

Elvis Presley: The King of Rock and Roll was training to become an electrician before he began his music career and rose to international stardom.

So while these individuals found great success in fields like music, acting, science, and film, they all had early experiences working as electricians that may have contributed to their later achievements.
